MoKo Musik is a musical ensemble established in 2014 that showcases traditional and contemporary Korean music. Members include musicians and composers of Korean heritage as well as those interested in performing and collaborating with traditional Korean instruments.
MoKo Musik seeks to portray elements of Korean history and culture through a collaborative approach to traditional Korean music and to promote contemporary music written by Korean composers. MoKo Musik also commissions composers to write for a mixed ensemble of traditional Korean instruments and Western instruments.
Through our music, we hope to share with our audiences the spirit of Korea and its people during its rapid transformation into a high-tech society, and celebrate the complex beauty of Korea’s musical traditions in the process.
